Raw Food Meetup in South Florida!

by Share on November 21, 2010

We are so excited to be the new organizers for the Lake Worth Raw Food Meetup here in South Florida. Our first meetup is scheduled for Wednesday, December 8th at 6:30 PM at Darbster Waterside Bistro. The evening will kick off with a short presentation and be followed up with lively conversation and of course, an awesome menu from Darbster!

They are offering our group a Raw Sampler platter for $10. If you have yet to try their food, it’s a great deal and their chef is fantastic!

Some folks have asked if we are militant about being raw. No, not at all. We have found that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. I believe that everybody is different and at any given time in your life, your body can shift and what worked for you two years ago, might not work today. Your body benefits from raw food, there is no question. But only if you can get there without stressing out!!!! We will discuss this topic in length in December and for anyone living in South Florida, please RSVP through the group so we can let the restaurant know how many folks plan to attend.

In the meantime, I hope you have a peaceful and loving Thanksgiving. Remember, it ain’t about the ‘turkey’ it’s about gratitude. So love the turkey instead and eat some veg with joy and appreciation for all you have in your lives.

We have gotten completely addicted to juicing with wheatgrass everyday. If I don’t have my wheatgrass I feel like I’m missing out. I love to combine it with lemons for a zingy drink. Also, a chunk of ginger is lovely with it, too. If you have a cold or the sniffles, get some wheatgrass down you at least twice a day and say goodbye cold! It’s a true superfood!

Green is My Fave Color

by Share on February 6, 2010

It’s true. I love green. Ironically, I hated the color green as a teenager and no matter how much my mom tried to get me into green dresses and tops… I refused. But now, I see green as a color of health and wealth. After all, the most important aspect of eating healthy involves juicing and finding ways to get those dark leafy greens into our bodies! Here I am again juicing more greens! If you don’t know what to juice, just grab some kale, celery, carrots and apples. All organic so you are not juicing pesticides and drink to your health!

How Rye You Are

July 20, 2008

What started off as simply the joy of picking a ripe tomato in our garden turned into a veritable feast! Bam saw the tomato and thought… hmmmm…. “this calls for the Apple Rye Toast I’ve just made and is sitting fresh and warm in the dehydrator. Let’s add some fresh Shiso and Basil from the [...]
