Here is a list of shortcuts we have found to be helpful in the quest for a healthy living foods lifestyle!
So you want to go raw but you’re not sure where to start?
- Get a juicer and juice some fresh greens, carrots and apples everyday. Be sure to include dark greens like kale, spinach or collard greens in your juice blend!
- Learn to carry little things with you like soaked, dehydrated nuts and seeds.
- Get into sprouting! Order some seed mixtures from The Sprout People and get one of their simple to use sprouters. You can take this with you when you travel so you’re guaranteed fresh microgreens wherever you go!
- Find the recipes that ‘speak’ to you. Don’t let the myriad of choices and opinions overwhelm you. Just learn to listen to your body. Eventually your own voice will be the one that speaks the loudest and the clearest.
- When you crave sweets, eat an avocado or have some young thai coconut.
- If possible, find someone else who will ‘dare to be raw’ with you. It’s a lot easier and more enjoyable if you’re not the only one eating a big, crazy salad on a saturday night!
Baby steps are okay. You don’t have to 100% raw to make a difference in your life. Just take it easy at first without putting too much pressure on yourself. Remember, you are reversing a lifetime of ‘cooked food’ habits!
